Over the past 13 years balanced growth in admissions, student’s achievements, academic performance, placements and research distinguishes MSEC in Bangalore Region and is rated to be among the top 25 institutions in the state. Industry-Institute relations, Centers of Excellence, Innovation and Creativity Cell, Entrepreneurship and Incubation Facility, IPR Cell, Product Development Centre and Research Centre are the major facilities that have been setup at MSEC in association with top MNCs, DRDO and Govt. of India/Karnataka. With initiative of R&D activities, MSEC is committed to the pursuit of knowledge for the benefit of society.  At MSEC, research provides the training ground for tomorrow’s leaders. 

Research driving academic excellence: Underwater sensors and navigation centre has projects worth 1 Crores supported by VGST, Govt. of Karnataka and is dedicated towards developing embedded systems for underwater communication. Human-machine interface excellence centre studies the thought process in human mind and is involved in developing software and hardware modules that can improve the performance of students. The electronic systems developed provide assistances to locked-in patients and differently able personalities to have secure and safe environment. Research in smart systems and internet of everything is another academic vertical that is being developed at MSEC. 

Models and strategies for change: Students from their first year of engineering are mentored to actively participate in developing products that are of societal importance, their involvement in R&D projects creates enthusiasm and hence realize the importance of engineering education for building successful career. Online learning management system provides access to learning material, lecture notes, videos and animations for students to enhance their learning skills. 

Lab to Land-Fostering Innovation: MSEC is the first private college in India to develop Indias first VLSI design software and Nanoelectronics simulator, the product is commercialized and is further marketed by incubate company at MSEC. Real time virtual lab facility which is first of its kind India provides students to access hardware and software resources online and also offers industry certification. Students and faculty members are supported both technically and with financial assistance for carrying out research and project work. Every year MSEC files 10 patents and currently MSEC holds rights for 15 patents. VTU Belgaum has recognized MSEC as the nodal centre for offering industry relevant training course in VLSI and Embedded Systems, more than 200 students have been trained and have been offered placements. 
Entrepreneurship & Incubation: Students of MSEC have been getting jobs in core sector of engineering and many of them have been supported to start their own companies in Campus with a seed money support of 1 Lakh to 5 Lakhs. Driving this initiative we have set a vision to incubate 10 companies every year with financial assistance of 10 Lakhs per company with all facilities.
